2009 Mid-year Short Training Course
INTRODUCTION
Centre for Agricultural Resources and International Development (CEFARD) is a Canada based not-for-profit, non-governmental, and humanitarian organisation. CEFARD's mandate is to contribute her quota to the course of global poverty alleviation as declared by the United Nations. We achieve this through various means of capacity building methods in form of Trainings, Workshops, Seminars, Conferences and Customised collaborative Trainings programmes with various institutions and organisations in order to harness available agricultural resources, and other developmental tools within the target community to create wealth for poverty alleviation in Canada and mostly in the developing nations of the world. Details of our activities could be found at www.cefard.org
After the first International Development Conference (IDC 2007) held 15th-18th November, 2007 in Days Hotel and Conference Centre, Toronto, Canada, with the theme “assessing global successes of poverty alleviation programmes” a committee was constituted to deliberate on some issues that will propel the actualization of the MDGs of the United Nations of halving the world poverty by 2015 which is one of the main priorities of CEFARD Canada. It was therefore recommended by the committee to give our LED training course a high priority. And it has been a yearly event since then.
